Exclamation Bakery
The collaboration between a skilled baker and chefs specializing in Japanese and Western cuisine has led to the creation of highly acclaimed bread. Using only Hokkaido-sourced ingredients, the bread dough is meticulously handcrafted. You can even enjoy the bread while soaking your feet in the footbath outside the shop.

“Shiumaiwa Yamadetaberumono”
A restaurant specializing in hand-made steamed dumplings. Hokkaido flour is used for the special-order thin dumpling wrappers, for a firm texture. The coarse ground meat is especially juicy. The carved wooden bear decorating the restaurant stands out.

Tsubaki-Tei is located approximately 10 minutes by car from the popular Indian curry specialty shop in the Toyo-kawa Onsen area. This establishment, known for its authentic Indian curry prepared by Indian chefs, along with freshly baked naan bread, attracts numerous fans from distant places.

Daikokuya Shoten
Hot spring sweet bun shop established in 1931. The sweet buns, handmade every morning, are filled with plenty of black sugar bean paste inside a moist thin skin. Available for purchase individually, they're perfect for enjoying while strolling through the hot spring resort.

Sightseeing Spots
A place of spiritual energy believed to bring success in exams and love fulfillment. Inside the 120-meter-long cave extending from the back of the main hall, there are 33 statues of Kannon (Goddess of Mercy). Experience the coolness of the cave even during the summer.

Jyozan Gensen Park
A foot bath park with a scene of “Miizumi Jozan”, the founder of Jozankei hot spring, first discovering the source spring. Surrounded by trees and flowers, visitors can rest at the pavilion or experience a foot bath. Be sure to cook a boiled egg in the hot spring container.

Iwato Kannondo
A power spot to promote a successful examination and to find love. From the back of the main hall, 33 kannon (Goddess of Mercy) statues line the 120-meter-long cave. Experience the cool air in the cave even during the summer.

Koganeyu Sakura no Mori Park
Approx. 10 min. by car from the hot spring resort, this renowned cherry blossom viewing spot lies in the direction of downtown Sapporo. Covering a vast area of 6 hectares, the park boasts approximately 800 cherry trees of 11 different varieties, making it the largest in Sapporo city. The peak bloom period typically occurs from late April to early May.

AINU Cultural Center・
Sapporo Pirka Kotan“Sapporo Pirka Kotan,” means “beautiful village in Sapporo,” in the Ainu language. The facility introduces the Ainu people, the indigenous inhabitants of Hokkaido, who have nurtured their unique culture over generations. Traditional costumes and tools are displayed.

Sapporo Kokusai Ski Resort
Located approx. 30 min. by car from Jozankei Onsen town, this ski resort offers various courses suitable for beginners to advanced skiers, as well as abundant powder snow. On clear days, you can enjoy views all the way from the mountaintop to Sapporo City and even the sea.

Sapporo Lake
The lake was formed in 1989 when the Otarunai River was blocked by the Jozankei Dam. The view from the observation deck is spectacular. There are many parks nearby and you also can visit the Jozankei Dam Museum.

Hoheikyo
This scenic spot is listed among the 100 best water source forests and 100 best dam lakes by the Forestry Agency of Japan. The scenery formed by the abundant nature surrounding the Hoheikyo Dam, the water source for Sapporo City, is magnificent. This place is also popular to view the change of the leaves in the fall.

Futami Suspension Bridge
The red suspension bridge spanning the gorge is the symbol of Jozankei. From the Futami Suspension Bridge, the natural walking trail 'Futami Jozan Road' follows along the Toyohira River, allowing you to experience the abundant nature of Jozankei. Please note that it is not accessible during winter.
